Mitch's Testimony...
|
I grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota, USA, went to church until I was 14 yrs. old but had no real relationship with the Lord Jesus. I knew about Him but had no desire to OBEY Him. I joined the U.S. Marine Corps when I was 20 yrs. old and worked as an Avionics technician on the EA-6B Prowler, a radar-jamming aircraft. I gave my life to Jesus while attending a church in Memphis, Tennessee in June '84. The preacher as also a former-Marine. While stationed as a Marine in Subic Bay, Philippines in 1986, God began to speak to me about leaving the military and coming back to the Philippines some day as a missionary. So I left the Marines after four years and joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM), an international movement of Christians from many denominations, united by love and dedicated to presenting Christ personally to this generation. YWAM is a completely volunteer organization comprised of people from every age serving in both short-term and long-term capacities. All staff and workers are non-salaried.

Liberty's Testimony… I grew up on an island in the Philippines called Mindoro. I went to college at Polytechnic University of the Philippines (P.U.P.) in Manila and graduated in 1987. Although I was Catholic, I did not follow JESUS until my college days while attending a YWAM Bible Study not far from my school. It wasn't long after that that God began to speak to me about more training with YWAM in Antipolo, Rizal, in the Philippines. I attended YWAM's Discipleship Training School in 1988 and served with YWAM in Olongapo City with a ministry helping former bar-girls bring wholeness to their lives. It was in Olongapo, while working with YWAM, that I eventually got married to Mitch who was my leader at the time. We got married at the Salvation Army Chapel in 1991. We have two daughters: Evangeline, age five and Victoria, less than one year. Both Liberty and myself believe that man has only two ways to live in this present life. Either you can live for YOURSELF SUPREMELY or for the GLORY OF GOD and the GOOD OF THE UNIVERSE (loving your neighbor).
