Warm Greetings from the Family Ministries Team here in Baguio City Philippines!

We are excited to know that you are interested in our 5th Family Ministries School (FMS) to be held in the Philippines. We pray that the Lord will guide you into his purposes for you as you prayerfully consider this school.

Isaiah 58:12

" Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins, and will raise up the age-old foundations you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings."

FACING THE REALITY

The family today is severely under attack. The institution of the family is the most basic grouping of people that has the most significant influence on a nation or society. The family is being broken down with marriages falling apart at an alarming rate.

Parents are abdicating their God-given roles and responsibilities, abandoning the God who created the family and who gave His Word to live by. In turn children are growing up without emotional stability and security.

IS THERE AN ANSWER?

Yes!  We in YWAM Family Ministries believe that God's Word contains the blue print for family life and the answers for restoration. Families almost always desire to have a strong healthy family life but without some practical keys they are often in the dark as to where to start.

FOR THIS REASON WE RECOMMEND A YWAM FAMILY MINISTRIES SCHOOL (FMS)

The FMS is a second level school, therefore all applicants must have completed a YWAM Discipleship Training School.

The primary focus of the FMS is in training people in building families on Godly principles and in family restoration.  Top

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE FMS!

The FMS is a five month course comprising of twelve weeks live-in lecture phase and eight weeks field assignment with four other optional weeks commencing every September here in the Philippines.

--------------------

There are five major categories viewed as the central core of an FMS.

1. World View of Family / Biblical Foundations

2. The Marriage Relationship

3. Parenting.

4. Family Counseling

5. The Role of the Family in Ministry

----------------------- Top

You will be helped in small groups, and in the preparation of role-plays and in the presentation of this material into your own style. Students completing this course can expect to participate in running parenting and marriage seminars and to be equipped to help families return to Biblical Standards.

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

Children's ministries operate along with the main lecture program of the FMS because we are dedicated to see God become a reality in the lives of your children.  If your children are of school age we request that you bring with them their school work which will be supervised in a classroom type setting here at the YWAM Base.

WHERE WILL THE FMS BE HELD?

It will be held in the YWAM Baguio Training Center situated right besides the airport in Baguio City. This city is nestled amidst the mountainous region of the Cordillera. 1500m above sea level and 250km north of Manila. It is also known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines.

If you desire to know more about Baguio City there is a website you might like to view:

WHAT WILL THE LIVING ENVIRONMENT BE LIKE?

The YWAM lifestyle is simple. Students live in rooms at the YWAM Base or in nearby facilities with people of various ages, nations, cultures & denominations. Meals will be offered from the central kitchen. Top

WHAT ARE THE FEES AND SCHEDULE?

Costs and schedule information will be sent to interested persons upon request. Student fees cover tuition, materials, room & board, literature & expenses for visiting lecturers. In order to keep fees as low as possible, students are required to participate in work duties.

WHAT ABOUT CREDITS?

The FMS is part of the College of Counseling & Health Care, of The University of the Nations (U OF N) YWAM's university. The FMS counts for twelve credits towards a U of N degree at the completion of the twelve week course.

The field assignment of eight weeks will earn eight credits but with the optional extra four weeks earning four further credits. Top

WHO SHOULD ATTEND AN FMS?

Do you sense a call of God on your life to restore family life to God's intended pattern? If so whether you are married or single this school may well be for you!

The FMS is intended for YWAM staff, school teachers, pastors, daycare workers and to other interested persons, in order to give Biblical keys and practical tools in family ministry.
